beauty essentials

Having one of those ‘maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s a slew of expensive beauty products’ moments.

I just restocked my three favorite beauty essentials, and it reminded me that I wanted to share with all of you!

These are my cannot-live-without staples, that regardless of beauty trends, new products, fads, etc, will forever be in my medicine cabinet. They’re all centered around moisturizing – skin, lashes and hair. The result is supple skin, strong (and long!) lashes, and soft hair. Most of the time I’m cheap AF and won’t spend a lot on beauty products, but these are worth a tiny bit of extra $.

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator

The first jar I bought of this lasted me THREE. YEARS. I’m not exaggerating when I say a little goes a long way. I have very dry + oily skin (seriously wtf skin), which literally makes no sense and causes tons of problems. However, this gel crème combats the dryness (hardcore) without adding any oil. PLUS it feels like absolute MAGIC on your skin. I want to bathe my face in it daily but I don’t because self control.

Chanel Beauté de Cils Nourishing Mascara Base

I thought this was a joke at first. Like seriously, eyelash conditioner? Base mascara? This must be a ploy from Chanel to just take more of my money every time I visit the counter. Wrong, I was. So, so wrong. I have a terrible tendency of picking off my mascara with my fingers (nervous habit, bored habit, potential OCD habit, whatever) – this leads to eyelashes falling out. The conditioner helps strengthen the lashes from the root out, and also makes your eyelashes look BOMB when you put a top coat of mascara over the conditioner. I use Chanel Inimitable Intense mascara in black.

Unite 7Seconds Condition Leave-In Detangler

I live at the beach, and spend as much time in the water as possible. Sun, salt, chlorine, wind, heat…. all key ingredients for disgusting, destroyed, dry hair. This leave in conditioner smells fresh and leaves your hair SO so soft. I’ve been out of it for a couple weeks and it has left me feeling incredibly desperate and gross.

Have fun getting prettier!

xx,
Dominique
